Atlanta Satellite TV Installers Frustrate Me
Writing by admin on Monday, 23 of July , 2007 at 4:54 pm
A week does not go by when I get a phone call from a frustrated client who has dish network or directv out there and they can’t seem to figure out how to hook things up.
Inevitably…they tell the homeowner that we “wired their house wrong” or that “we didn’t wire it Properly” for HDTV.
Of course this is 100% inaccurate.
In fact most of the time the client winds up paying us to come in and hook up with the satellite techs do not know how to connect.
The problem is that satellite techs today are trained to do only one thing and one thing only…
To sell the homeowner on using HDMI cables.
Any other wiring method…is not readily understood.
Up to this point the majority of our builders on spec homes do not want to pay for HDMI cables…so they have us prewire for plasma feeds. Plasma feeds provide component level High def quality picture via a blue, green, red and audio cables.
Todays satellite installers are often pushed out into the field before they are fully trained on various wiring methods.
Recently the irate home owner even had a direct TV supervisor come out. I explained to him on the phone how to connect it. He still didn’t get it.
I guess the homeowner will be calling me any day now to connect her satellite box to her LCD Tv over the fireplace.
The lesson here:
Be prepared that your dish-network & direct Tv guys may not know how to do everything that needs to be done
