Home Theater: Ask For Help Before Its Too Late
Writing by admin on Monday, 23 of July , 2007 at 12:17 pm
I am not Harry Potter.
I wish I could magically run wires for speakers without cutting any holes. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
I went out to visit a potential home theater client yesterday. They just finished an extensive basement remodeling project and now wanted help with their Atlanta home theater system.
I asked him if they had prewired for surrround sound speakers before the sheetrock went up.
PRE-WIRED?
Apparently they had never thought ahead as to how they weere going to get all of the speakers for the 5.1 surround sound system back to their equipment source.
You should have seen their faces as I tried as painlessly as possible to explain how may holes would be needed to be cut to run their speaker wires after the fact.
You should have seen the husband counting on his fingers and toes as he tried estimating in his head the hundreds…even thousands of dollars of drywall repair, sanding , finishing and then painting.
Here is the lesson to be learned…
Ask for help before its too late.
An Atlanta home theater consultant, like myself should be consulted long before drywall is even stacked in the home.
If you are serious about having a professional help you –
I offer a complimentary on site home theater consulation.
Ideally have your audio video installers have a planning meeting with your electricians before even one inch of speaker wire is pulled.
You will be thankful you did.
