Homebuilders Allow Your Presale Clients To Talk With Your Low Voltage Contractor

Writing by admin on Wednesday, 25 of July , 2007 at 1:18 pm

It is amazing how many builders still do not take advantage of my complimentary low voltage walkthru with their clients before we wire their home.

Don’t get me wrong… I am very appreciative of all of our 50 plus builders that we work with here in Atlanta GA.

While spec homes are one thing (Everything is wired the same)-a new home buyer that is building from the ground up deserves to be able to choose where their phone and cable outlets will go.

Don’t you agree?

  • Shouldn’t they be able to have a choice as to which rooms are to be prewired for distributed audio or not?
  • Shouldn’t they know that they will not have a true HD picture over the fireplace with the way things may be wired now?
  • Shouldn’t they have the right to know that they can have satellite feed cables ran to the outside now…instead of directv or dish network making a mess of things later?
  • Shouldn’t they have the right to know what options are available, home much they cost and how MUCH MORE they will cost if they decide change their mind later?
  • Shouldn’t they have the right to know about how much cutting of sheetrock, drywall dust, sanding, patching and painting will be needed LATER ON if the change their mind?

But that is not generally what happens.

But in the end, after its all said and done…the drywall is up and the walls are sanded & painted…the invariably come to me and say

“Why did YOU put it there?”

I explain that was a builder decision and they always ask…

“Why didn’t they allow me to meet with you before hand”

All i can do is shrug my shoulders and say–”I don’t know”

Builders– please allow me to help your clients and make them feel appreciated BEFORE the drywall is installed.

I thank you…and your home buyers thank you.
