Can you mount a TV on the ceiling?

Have you ever wondered about whether or not you can hang a TV on the Ceiling before?
Believe it or not as a custom home theater atlanta company, we get asked this all of the time.
There are several ways to do this:
First of all you can use a simple ceiling mounted TV bracket like this:

This first suggestion comes in reas that there is not a wall to conveniently mount the TV on to. They can hold a plasma or LCD up to 175 lbs.
Here is an excellent idea for a dentist office!

Since you have your staring at the ceiling you might as well watch your favorite TV show. Maybe it distracts you from the drilling!
This type of ceiling TV mount hides in the ceiling until you want to watch it!

Of course you will need to have adequate space above the ceiling to do this. An ideal way to do this would be with a drop ceiling, a room with a step or tray ceiling or a room with an attic above.
In custom installations we have also installed these in a master bedroom ceiling. Picture if you will a trey ceiling with a vault. We simply installed a typical flat wall mount plasma TV screen on the 45 degree vault of the trey ceiling. This way you can watch TV and not worry about hurting your neck. You can watch TV while fully laying on your back!

Yes Sheila they can. Notice how they did it in the dental office in the picture above. Patients can watch TV while laying on their back.
As you can imagine you would need to use the appropriate TV mounting bracket for your television size to be able to do this. Also make sure that your bracket that mounts to the ceiling has plenty of solid dead wood to be able to screw it to the ceiling.
What other applications besides a dental office would you consider such an installation?
